Educational Consultant for UK Boarding Schools

Chris was educated and has taught at The King’s School, Canterbury in England, UK – probably the oldest school in the
world (founded in 597AD). He has worked in Senior Leadership, including as a Headmaster for 20 years, in five schools (including King’s Canterbury & Bancroft’s Prep School) and has experience of helping students to achieve entry and scholarships to a wide range of UK schools including the most well-known. He enjoys working with families and helping students find the right school for them so they can be happy and flourish.

He was awarded a Fellowship in Management Studies at the Institute of Education at London University where he also tutored
students and supervised their Teaching Practice. He has tutored at Winchester University.

For most of his career Chris has worked in Independent Boarding Schools in the UK including as Head of English & Drama, Director of Co-Curricular Activities, Housemaster & Head of Boarding. Most recently he has been a Headmaster leading four
schools and working with his wife, Emma, who has worked closely with him as a Deputy Head with a particular interest in
Health & Wellbeing and Learning Difficulties.

Chris also has experience of working with international students. Further to completing his TEFL and then a Masters Degree in Language in Education he has directed International Summer Language Schools for many years at UK boarding schools and has taught business people in Spain.

Chris enjoys working with families and advising students over choice of UK school and university as well as other matters
relating to their UK education. He has also been a School Governor. He believes that learning should be fun and puts a
student’s Wellbeing at the top of the list of priorities. He offers bespoke practice interviews with a real Headmaster.

Chris and Emma have a white golden retriever and on that basis also feel very much at home in the McMillan clan!
